Residence Inn by Marriott Tampa at USF/Medical Center

We stayed here for our trip to Busch gardens. The room was good. The big bed was good soft no problems. The sleeper couch definitely needs a new mattress it was a small word down mattress, which was great for my small kids, but I played on it as adult and was like nope not happening. I could feel the bars right through the mattress. Room was decent size as we had a kitchen, which was a nice touch to warm up left over food. There was plenty of parking and the women at the front desk were nice. The location is central to a lot of places it didn’t take us long to get around you would need a car or service to get anywhere. I would stay here again if I needed a trip back to that area.

We were pleasantly surprised on how nice the rooms are and how clean they were also. We came with a party of 5 for one night and the beds were very comfortable and more than enough space for us all. The fact that our room had a full kitchen with a stove was great if we chose to return for a longer stay while we hang around Tampa. The location is near the highway but far enough away not to deal with all the traffic and very quiet. The staff was great and very helpful in answering all our questions. Would recommend for one night stays or even longer.

Platinum member, stayed in a lot of Marriott properties and this is my first review of one. This is an old generation 2 property. AC on off VERY loud. Had to change rooms, found one better but the traffic noise in that room was difficult. No quieter rooms available. Windows are thin and was up listening to people arguing in the parking lot plus the traffic. The hallways are dingy and yellow lit. You can hear people talking and loud TV’s. Depressing hotel and I’m glad it was only for one night. No connecting rooms in this particular Residence Inn, didn’t have any 2 bedroom available so we had to get 2 rooms. Both loud AC and traffic. Worth it to pay more and stay in newer property down town.

Very rarely do I send reviews on anything, but in the case of our stay at the Residence Inn we can not praise them enough. The care and general overall experience Ed, my sister Charlotte and myself had was wonderful. We will be traveling back to Tampa and looking forward to staying there again. Thank you for everything. We stayed here as a group of six for a weekend visit to Busch Gardens. I originally had a 2 BR Suite reserved, but upon arrival was told they had an air conditioning incident in the hotel and had to modify the reservations, so I was given two 1BR Suites. Front desk was very apologetic and ready to assist with anything I might need. Luckily, it worked out ok for my party. I did have 4 kids with me, and was worried about leaving 3 of them alone in one room, but they are tweens & teens and loved having their own space. And, I could see their door from the peep hole. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Modern. No complaints at all. They had good amenities in the kitchen, of which I used the scrub mommy, dish soap, and wine glasses ;) The bathroom had full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash pumps on the wall, and make-up remover towelette. Breakfast was also a win! This was an important factor for us. They had scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, french toast, oatmeal, yogurt, cereals, a variety of breads, regular and chocolate milk boxes, juices, coffee/tea, and a good set-up of a variety of toppings (chopped pecans, golden raisins, craisins, shredded coconut, sliced almonds, etc.) The hotel is in a quiet area, but close to everything. I would absolutely stay here again.
